克里斯托夫：我们不想再看演员装模作样，也厌倦了爆破场面及电脑特效。楚门虽然活在一个虚构的世界，他自己本身却半点不假，没有剧本或提词卡，虽然未必是杰作，却是如假包换，是生活的实录。许多观众整夜看着他。We’ve become bored with watching actors give us phony emotions, we’re tired of pyrotechnics and special effects. While the world he inhabits is, in some respects, counterfeit, there’s nothing fake about truman himself. No scripts, no cue cards. It isn’t always shakespeare, but it’s genuine. It’s a life. We find many viewers leave him on all night for comfort.

克里斯托夫：我是电视节目制作人，给予无数人们希望和快乐。I am the creator of a television show, that gives hope and joy and inspiration to millions.

楚门：我是谁？Then who am I?

克里斯托夫：你是主角。You’re the star.

楚门：什么都是假的？Was nothing real?

克里斯托夫：你是真的，所以才这么好看。听我说，外面的世界比我虚构的世界更不真实，同样的谎言，虚伪。但在我的世界，你不必害怕，我比你更了解你自己。You were real, that’s what made you so good to watch. Listen to me, truman, there’s no more truth out there than there is in the world I created for you. The same lies, the same deceit. But in my world, you have nothing to fear. I know you better than you know yourself.
